SK Robotics EDGE – Why It Matters & Why Choose Us
SK Robotics EDGE is a hands-on learning program in Caroline Springs, Melbourne, Australia, where children explore coding, robotics, and STEM through fun, practical projects. Instead of just playing with technology, your child will learn to create it — building confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills along the way.
In today’s world, it’s almost impossible to avoid screen time completely. Devices are everywhere - in schools, at home, and even in our pockets. While we can and should limit it, the reality is that technology is part of everyday life, and will play an even bigger role in the future. The smarter choice is to guide children towards positive, creative uses of technology rather than try to eliminate it entirely.
Let’s be honest — it’s not just children, even we parents spend a lot of time on our devices. The difference is that our habits started as adults, while children are being exposed far too early — at an age when they should be learning, playing, and having fun.
Since we can’t escape this reality, the better solution is to redirect screen time into something productive — something that sharpens the brain, builds creativity, and develops an interest in STEM activities. At SK Robotics EDGE, children still use technology, but in a way that helps them learn, innovate, and prepare for a future where tech will be central.
As parents, giving them this positive direction is one of the greatest gifts we can offer.
At SK Robotics EDGE, children progress step by step through a structured learning journey. Over time, they will:
Learn Block Coding, Flow Charts, and Presentations to build logical thinking and communicate ideas clearly.
Develop coding skills in Python, solving problems and controlling robotics projects with real code.
Work with Arduino boards, writing programs to control real hardware like sensors, motors, and circuits.
Understand how digital technology connects with everyday life — seeing not just how robots work, but why things in the real world function the way they do.
Gain confidence by presenting their projects, working in teams, and taking part in challenges and competitions.
Our program is designed for long-term growth, so children who continue with us across multiple terms steadily build both technical skills and life skills: creativity, leadership, focus, resilience, and problem-solving — preparing them for the future in a way that complements what they learn in school.
Not at all! 👌 We welcome complete beginners as well as children who already have some coding knowledge. Our program is designed to start simple and grow in complexity — from block coding for younger learners to Python and Arduino projects (including C/C++ concepts) for advanced learners.
We specialise in programs for children in Grade 3 to Grade 7 (approximately 8 to 13 years old) — the age group where hands-on robotics and coding has the greatest impact on curiosity, creativity, and logical thinking.
For Grade 8 and 9 students (13 to 14 years old), we are preparing to run holiday workshops that will challenge them with more advanced projects. These are expected to launch in upcoming holiday periods, and parents are welcome to register their interest so they can be the first to know when dates are confirmed.
For younger children in Prep to Grade 2 (5 to 7 years old), we are exploring trial project programs that ensure value for both children and parents.
✨ As we continue to grow, our programs will expand to include more grade levels, so that children of different ages can benefit from learning robotics and STEM at SK Robotics EDGE.
We are open to collaborating with schools in Caroline Springs and across Melbourne to bring robotics and STEM programs directly into classrooms. Since we are just getting started, our focus right now is on building strong programs for children through our regular classes and workshops. School partnerships are something we are looking forward to developing in the near future.
Classes are conducted from our dedicated learning space in Caroline Springs, Melbourne. The space is designed to be safe, comfortable, and focused — giving children the right environment for hands-on learning.
For safety, entry is limited to enrolled families only, so every child learns in a secure and well-supervised setting.

To ensure fairness for everyone and to respect our tutors’ schedules, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of the class payment. With 24 hours’ notice, we will make every effort to reschedule the class. Please provide notice via WhatsApp message or phone message, including your child’s full name.
We understand that schedules can change, and sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. However, we are committed to providing high-quality instruction and expect a similar level of commitment from our students. Here’s our full policy:
- Unexpected Emergencies: We understand unforeseen emergencies, including illness, may occur. Please notify us promptly. To ensure consistent learning for your child and the class, we kindly request that emergency cancellations are used only when absolutely necessary. Frequent short-notice cancellations, particularly in consecutive weeks, disrupt learning, potentially causing your child to fall behind and slowing down the class. After three such instances, we reserve the right to suspend your child’s enrollment.
- Classroom Decorum & Punctuality: To maximize learning time and minimize disruptions, we request that your child arrives on time, ideally 5 minutes early, and maintains appropriate classroom behavior.
- Consistent Attendance for Optimal Progress: To ensure your child benefits fully from our program and to maintain fairness for all students, consistent attendance is crucial. We reserve the right to offer your time slot to a student with a more reliable attendance record.
- Addressing Learning Gaps from Absences: Each class covers substantial material. Frequent absences can create significant learning gaps, especially for students already struggling. We cannot be responsible for bridging these gaps due to repeated absences.
- Individual Catch-Up Sessions (Charged): If individual catch-up sessions are required due to frequent absences, they will be charged at $200 per hour. This fee reflects the dedicated, one-on-one attention necessary to bring your child back to the class’s level.
- Tutor Cancellations: In the rare event of a tutor cancellation, we will promptly notify you and reschedule the class. If the cancellation is due to an urgent circumstance, the class will not be charged.
- Respect for Tutor Time: We value our tutors’ time and expect it to be respected.
We aim to be flexible while maintaining a fair system. Please contact us with any questions.

All our sessions are designed to run smoothly, even if there is a temporary internet interruption. Since most of the learning is hands-on with robotics kits and coding software, children can continue working on their projects while the connection is restored. Instructors also ensure that no child misses out — if anything important is disrupted, we revisit it in the same session so learning stays on track.
✨ Even during a Wi-Fi issue, children continue with offline activities such as drawing flow charts, preparing presentations, or brainstorming improvements to their projects — so learning time is never wasted.
While rare, technical issues (such as internet disruptions or equipment malfunctions) may occasionally occur and are sometimes beyond our control. We are committed to resolving these issues quickly and have a backup plan in place to minimise disruption to your child’s learning.
✨ Our classes also include offline activities like flow charts, presentations, and teamwork discussions. This ensures your child keeps learning valuable skills, even if technology is briefly unavailable.
If a class session is significantly affected by a technical issue, we will review the situation and communicate with parents directly. Depending on the circumstances, we may:
Transfer your child to an alternate session of equivalent value,
Offer a make-up class, or
Provide a credit for a future class if no suitable alternative is available.
Please note that refunds are not issued for short-term technical issues that do not impact the overall quality of learning. However, we are committed to ensuring every child has a positive, consistent learning experience and will always work with parents to find a fair solution.
